I think the number I saw somewhere the Watchtower had files on 22,000 + pedophiles they call "sins" not crimes. These are DAMAGED children the Governing Body could not give a care about, some of them even were disfellowshipped by some stupid old BS Elder for fornication excuse me they were raped these men are the ones that are mentally diseased.

How about the way the kids are raised in this religion the emotional abuse, no social skills, lack of education, teaching of hate for worldly people, I could go on but you know d... well what I am getting at. I was only introduced to this bloody religion when the "Elder " tried to convert me.

I have spent the better part of 50+ years as child advocate. I have fought in 2 public school system to get not only my children services but other peoples children. I have seen kids go off to college that they predicted never would graduate high school.

I helped put a pervert in jail for 15 years and he will be registered for life.

All my spare time goes into raising money for children in need of medical procedures from the Shriner's Hospitals and from Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment.

Furthermore, this religion has no business allowing women because you do not come to the aid of the abused spouse. How many times have I read in these threads go pray about it or go be a better wife or go talk to the d... elder about it. Let me give you a little clue -- let a wife walk into a Masonic Lodge all bruised up from a beating she will not have to talk to anyone. That brother will be going for a walk with MANY of his brothers and I guarantee you he will never lay a hand on a woman again.

This religion should have been for MEN only and leave ALL the kids and women at home!!

IMO Another light sentence. Everyone of these have been given very little prison time.

Not a JW, my girlfriend & I sent her hubby to jail through a plea deal for 15 years then registered for life. If he had not taken the plea he was looking at life behind bars.

You have a valid point. First I will say I am very sure there are more extremely nice JW and Muslims then Bad ones. Ever since the events in Paris last week I have pondered the question how does the upper tiers of JWS differ from ISIS? Look at all the pedophiles they hide and let run lose to commit again and this is against their own children. Look at the emotional abuse this causes those victims by first leaving the abuser remain in the congregation and secondly by not getting the needed council for the victim and in some cases now this absurd they have called it fornication (ok I think the elders need to go to jail, imho). Then you have allowing abuse of women. Return to the children failure to educate the children. Age appropriate discussion during meetings, emotional abuse. Disfellowshipping of anyone under the age of 20 would be classified as child abuse. Oh, how about capital punishment - child abuse. The splitting up of families is a horrible form of emotional abuse. All of this is promoted very much from the GB on down.

The big difference is ISIS is doing it with big guns in public spaces and gets media attention. JWS does it against family members and hides its crimes behind closed doors and if they boot you out or you leave they call you Apostates -- so no body will listen to you, they are afraid of you. Or you stay in as pointed out at the ARC it is a captive religion.

Correlation decline JW numbers and JW broadcasting?

i read some impressive figures here about the decline of the jw numbers in 2015.. could there be a correlation between this decline and the start of jw broadcasting?.

hence, that there would be an negative impact because the gb is standing so nearby, you can experience the idiot reasoning of their doctrines sitting in your own living room?.

From a Non JW standpoint. I watched all the broadcast through August until the ARC. After the ARC, I was DONE.

I was not impressed by any of the broadcast why?

First, I find that in most cases I felt like I was being talked to as if I was a child.

Second, every broadcast included a bragging session of we are building this for JW.

Third, begging for money, tight pants, that obnoxious speel one of them did about it is all apostate lies and finally the obey, obey, obey broadcast.

Fourth, never anything for the outside community.

Over the 5 years that I knew the Elder he very rarely spoke about the JWS and their beliefs. He finally gave me the book on Families to see "how I would react ". To say the least, we never argued until that explosion hit the fan. I read about raising children, that is all it took. And women being submissive well that went over like a lead balloon.

I belong to the Masonic Community, I pay annual dues to 3 for myself and 2 for my daughter (not cheap). I participate in many fund raisers through out the year for the benefit of children, we raise lots of money. And I myself contribute I large sum of money each year to each of these charities.

Based on what I have learned here and JW FACTS over the last 10 months I would much prefer to take children and women into a Masonic Lodge before a KH any day, trust me it is a much safer environment.

i always enjoyed being kind.

when someone genuinely needed a hand or what not, it felt good to help family or friends.. i don't really miss them anymore.

i faded over two years ago, so they long ago shunned me.i think about them less and less and have even forgotten some names.i did enjoy some of the friendships and the association.

I was never a JW nor anyone in my family, only introduced to the religion through an Elder but I care very deeply about 2 people and go out of my way for them. Actually the Elder lectured me about this on several occasions. For 62 years (ok, I am not one to wake up very quickly ) I continually came to the rescue of my mother (alcoholic and prescription drug abuse) and sister (prescription drug abuse ). I provided lots of financial and emotional support to both of them while taking massive amounts of physical and emotional abuse from them. Finally for my own health I moved 4 states away and cut off communication. My children have referred to them as extremely toxic.

I have girlfriends who are closer to me the my mother or sister ever were.

Different organization but we had someone who for every big event would contributed $50.00 or $100.00 in one dollar bills the catch was he very neatly folded each one into the smallest origami bird or plane and we would have sit there unfold them.

currently they are looking at every kingdom hall to see if they could and should sell it.

any kingdom hall that has not been updated and is in a bad location (long driveway, not in a visible location etc...) will be sold.

Have you checked to see if your KH been transferred to the Watchtower? I remember in prior threads this was supposed to be done many months ago. Also, do you know how to check the county accessed value of the KH? That is if all of you are in the US.

Not a JW but curious what is that normal county accessed value of a single not the double KH in the US?

And didn't I read in one of these threads that the titles of the KH was to be recorded in the WTS name rather then the congregation name?

Washington DC for 50 years, then Virginia and now Tampa Fl.

Grreatteacher you are right DC traffic is the worst, the interstates in that area are nothing but massive parking lots. Average speed limit on Saturday on I95 in VA was always 5 mph.
